    • @SquatchNomad
      @SquatchNomad 2 месяца назад

      @@SquarebodyTruckCamper Good heads up! I think your camper is slightly bigger than mine. We have a Fleetwood Angler meant for 8' bed, however fits in our 6.5' bed with tailgate down (to give you an idea). It has the fiberglass pink insulation. We are going to remove the tiny bathroom since the bottom tub is cracking and we never use it. I'm hoping to add a wall AC unit in that area.

    • @SquarebodyTruckCamper
      @SquarebodyTruckCamper 2 месяца назад

      @@SquatchNomad a 5000 btu ac unit should work fine for you. We live in Northeast PA so the biggest issue we have is humidity during the summer. So as long as that gets cut down a bit, it is comfortable. Another tip, angle the AC unit down more than in your house in case your camper is not perfectly level when you want to run the AC. This will prevent the condensation from running into the camper.

    Interesting you have the old fan blade design. The turbo models all got 9 blade fans. Do you notice your car runs a little warm?

    • @SquarebodyTruckCamper
      @SquarebodyTruckCamper 2 месяца назад

      I never noticed the car running warm (it would run at about 90C)… but after owning the car about 1 year, I bypassed the mono valve and installed a gate valve. I open the gate valve in the winter to allow coolant to heater core and close it in the summer. Ever since I made that modification, whether the gate valve is opened or closed, the engine temp gauge runs at 95C normal operating temp and 105C pulling hills (climbing 1000 ft).

    Body lifts are better. They dont mess with your drive shaft geometry like suspension lifts do, they dont mess with your steering geometry like suspension lifts do, they dont mess with your suspension geometry like suspension lifts do, and they cost way less. One last important thing! You guys need to stop with the whole "center of gravity" myth. It's actually the opposite. So with a suspension lift, you lift EVERYTHING except for the axles. A body lift only lifts the body, keeping the heavy engine, transmission, frame, suspension, axles and tires on the ground. Now guys say that "oh well they are more dangerous". Ok well if the body is rusted by the mount bolt holes then yes its sketchy. Guys say "oh well body lifts look like crap because you see more of the frame." Ok so that may bother people, it may not bother others. Matter of opinion. I personally was never bothered by the look of more frame. Also if you want to compare the time it takes to install a suspension lift vs body lift.. body is always quicker.

    On my 1980, the battery tray and support were spot welded together. I had to pry the rusty tray away from the support and cut the welds with a 4.5" cutoff wheel, then was able to just grind the support smooth. My replacement tray came off a 1984, there really is no need to secure the tray to the support, but since there were already a set of holes matching both pieces, I secured the tray to the support with a carriage bolt.
